Voters in the Conroe Independent School District approved joining NHMCCD in 1991. Completed in 1995, Montgomery College is a 315,000-square-foot campus located on more than 130 acres of pine forest, between The Woodlands and Conroe, Texas.
Montgomery College enrolled more than 8,000 credit students for the Fall 2005 semester. The current enrollment represents an increase of more than 10 percent from the previous fall, marking the tenth consecutive fall semester increase.
The college offers more than 40 career programs as well as academic transfer courses in a variety of subjects such as criminal justice, physical therapist assistant, biotechnology, nursing, human services, computer information technology, radiologic technologist and management. A comprehensive range of transfer, vocational, and remedial programs -- including art, music, science, history, and government -- is also available.
Montgomery College also operates the Center for Business and Technology Training (CBTT) in Conroe. The CBTT is designed to provide workforce and career training, including light industrial/manufacturing, computer, telecommunications, as well as GED and English-as-a-Second-Language coursework.
Additionally, a corporate and continuing education division provides workforce training and re-training to local businesses and individuals. The college offers youth camps in the summer and the Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL@MC), a robust learning organization for active, older adults.
