3. How do I send money to an inmate?
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office offers three (3) convenient methods to send money to a Montgomery County Jail Inmate.

1. Visit our new commissary kiosk. The kiosk is similar to an ATM machine; however, instead of giving money, it takes it and deposits it directly into an inmate's account. The kiosk will accept cash ($5 bills or higher) and credit/debit cards with the VISA/MasterCard logo. The fees for using the machine are as follows:

Amount of Deposit
(maximum deposit $300.00)

4. How long until the person will be released after I post a bond for them?
The bonds are processed in the order we receive them. We cannot give you a specific time the subject will be released. There are many steps to process a bond/release.

5. What can I send to him/her?
The only thing the inmates may receive from a personal party is letters. Books may be received if sent directly from the publisher or an online service such as Amazon.com. These books must be soft/paper back; no hard back books will be accepted. Inmates are not allowed anything generated from the internet. Inmates are allowed Newspapers sent directly from their publisher.

6. When is his/her court date?
We do not know the court dates. You would need to contact the District Attorney’s office for a felony charge. Their telephone number is 936-539-7800. If it is a misdemeanor charge, you will need to contact the County Clerk’s office. Their telephone number is 936-539-7885.

7. Can I leave a message for the inmate?
We do not give the inmates any messages unless it is an emergency and we have verified the emergency. You may write them a letter or visit them on visitation day.

8. How do I send a letter to the inmate?
You will need his/her pin number (Personal Identification Number) and cell location. This information will need to be on the envelope along with the following:

Montgomery County Jail
Inmate’s Name
Pin # Cell location
#1 Criminal Justice Drive
Conroe, Texas 77301

9. The inmate went to court this morning and the Judge said he/she was going to be released; have you released them yet?
Inmates go to court in the morning and we may not receive the paperwork until after 5:00pm or sometimes the court has to wait on the Judge to sign the judgment and we do not receive the paperwork until the next day. Once we receive the judgment and all necessary paperwork, it is figured for back time and will be processed for release if there are no other charges on the subject. You may check the
inmate's profile to see if information has been updated.

10. How long will it take to release them?
It could take anywhere from 6 hours to 12 hours. It just depends on how many arrestees are to be booked and whether they have a set bond. Probable cause hearings are sometime the next day after the arrest date.

11. When can an inmate's property be picked up?
Property pick up is Tuesday through Friday from 8am to 10pm.

12. How do I accept collect calls from the jail?
Inmates can purchase pre-paid phone cards through the Commissary and the inmate will activate this card when they have phone privileges. Else, you may set up an account with Global Tele Link (Inmate Phone Service) at 1-877-856-3184.
