Child Watch

The Y provides supervision of your children, infants - 9 years, during scheduled hours by trained YMCA staff while you are enjoying Y activities on the premises. During their stay, children will have the opportunity to enjoy outside playground time, play time in the recreation game room, moonwalk and craft time.



Tot Lot (Infants - 18 months): Specifically designed for the care and entertainment of infants

Kids Korner (18 months - 3 year olds): Activities include imagination centers, circle time, and play structure

Kids "Gym" (3 - 9 year olds): Features arts and crafts, games, and Nerf sports cage.



Y Child Watch Programs, a free member service benefit, are available only for Full Facility Family Members. All youth under the age of 9 must be supervised while inside the facility and/or at the pool.

The following applies to Early Child Development and AfterSchool: 

 --  Registration:  Available all year at the Shadowbend YMCA, Child Development Center.

 --  YMCA Program Membership or Facility Membership is required to register. 

 --  Additional Information:  Call the Child Development Center at 281-681-6716.

 --  *Registration fee waived if tuition is paid monthly by credit card or bank draft.  If draft stops, fee will be automatically added to your account.



Early Child Development at Shadowbend 

The Child Development Center, licensed by the State of Texas, offers a fun learning environment focusing on the assessment and development of each individual child. The Scholastic Early Reading and Writing curriculum has been implemented in all preschool programs.

Pre-K students implement the Letter People curriculum with emphasis on skills preparation for CISD Kindergarten.  All students, 3 and older, are taught using the C.I.R.C.L.E. method of classroom management, a program developed by the Texas Health and Science Center to encourage early reading and language development. 

Location:  South Montgomery County YMCA at Shadowbend

Time:  6:30am – 6:30pm

Program:  2, 3, or 5 days a week.

 ½ Day:  Morning or Afternoon for Kinder Care Only

Ages:  18 months – Kindergarten 

Registration Fee (Jan-May):  $ 40 for one child or $ 60 per family

About the Program:

The YMCA believes that a quality child care program should provide enriching experiences which facilitate a child’s cognitive, social, physical and emotional growth. YMCA After School programs, licensed by the State of Texas, ensure that each child’s time after school is occupied creatively and constructively. These programs help children grow in spirit, mind and body while emphasizing and modeling character development values: caring, honesty, respect,

responsibility, and faith.

« Snacks are served daily.

« Quality Care is provided from school dismissal until 6:30pm, Monday - Friday.

« Care is also available for CISD In-Service days and some holidays.



Staff

YMCA Staff are trained in CPR & First Aid and have a minimum of 20 hours in child development. Caring staff provide a safe, fun and well supervised program which includes homework assistance, outdoor/indoor games, recreation, activity centers and special events.

Not available early release days: March 9 

Ages:  Afternoon K – 4th grade (Unless noted below)

« Non-Refundable Registration Fee:  $50 for Individual and $75 for Family.

« Registration fee waived if tuition is paid monthly by automatic credit card or bank draft.  If draft stops, fee will be added to your child's account.

« Registrations accepted throughout the school year and during the summer.

« To register, please stop by the YMCA Child Development Center at Shadowbend Branch.



Monthly Fee (Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb, April, May):

Pro-Rated Monthly Fee (August, December & March):
