BALLET CLASSES

Ages 3 - 6

Dance students will learn the fundamentals of classic ballet in a creative environment. Activities will include: learning proper body placements, basic positions & steps, rhythm & movement, history and the story of ballet. In lieu of a performance, a demonstration and ballet showcase will occur during the last class of each session.

MUSICAL THEATER, & PERFORMING ARTS

Grades K - 2: "Musical Fairy Tails & Disney Classics"

Grades 3 - 12: "High School Musical"



Performing Arts brings out a child’s creative personality through dancing, singing, and acting in a team environment. There are no auditions, but participants will be coached on audition techniques, camera work versus live theater performances, dancing, singing, acting, and voice projection. A professional artist helps the students create sets and props.

*Spring Session 1: Jan. 6 - Mar. 1

  Spring Session 2: Mar. 3 - May 5

*Students must attend both sessions to participate in December performance

The Way: Home School PE

A PE program for home school students. Presidential fitness testing and training also included in this program.

    KIDS COOKING CLASSES

    Pre-registration is required. Limited space available.

    An interactive experience that will help children learn to cook and help out in the kitchen.

    BABYSITTER TRAINING COURSE

    American Red Cross (ARC) Babysitter Training Course

    Participants should bring a full size baby doll and a sack lunch.

    Ages: 11 years and older

  • TAE KWAN DO

    Ages 6 - Adult

    These co/ed classes are for beginner and advanced level participants. Martial arts emphasizes self-defense, mental discipline, fitness and the development of self-confidence in youth and adults. Uniforms and safety equipment are purchased from the instructor. Online registration is available at www.ymcahouston.org.

    Note: A $10 late fee will be added for all registrations received after the 1st class of each new session.
