More about Myrna Karlins

About me

MONTGOMERY COUNTY/North Harris County, Texas -

Relocating to a new home and selling an existing home brings with it myriad details that need to be attended to, and it’s even more complicated when you consider relocating from another state or across the country. Myrna Karlins of Coldwell Banker Realty has over a quarter of a century of experience working with both residential and corporate clients.

This level of expertise doesn’t go unrecognized. For the eighth year consecutively, Karlins has received the Five Star Real Estate Agent Award, presented to industry service professionals who provide the highest quality of services to their clients. Her years of experience with Coldwell Banker Realty are reflected in her success and passion for her work.

Karlins prides herself in not only acting as an adviser in real estate transactions and providing the essential services required of an agent but in taking the extra time to build relationships with clients beyond just buying or selling their property. “I love working with people,” said Karlins. “It’s the best part of my job. The better I understand my clients’ needs, the better I can find the ideal property when it becomes available.”

Karlins has expanded the scope of her business to include investment properties and second homes, but working with major corporations on relocation is her core business, and business has been brisk. In addition, she has extensive knowledge in new home construction, home décor, design, and the appraisal process. She also provides access to a full line of vendors for repairs, remodeling and pre-listing fix-ups.

“We moved to The Woodlands in 1981, when the population was just approximately 8000-plus,” said Karlins. With the explosion of the population, I’ve grown my business with it. I know the neighborhood well.” Besides Montgomery County as her core base, her specialties include communities in North Harris County and specific neighborhoods inside the 610 Loop.

Knowing the community is as beneficial as knowing your own business, but knowing your clients’ businesses is a major competitive advantage. Myrna holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and marketing and has a good grasp of a broad cross section of the industry. Understanding the nature of her clients’ businesses has enabled her to grow her relocation services with top-tier corporations and become a top producer.

Her credentials in the real estate industry also include the following:

Karlins sets a sterling example of one who gives back to the community that has contributed to her success. Her website has a page that enables buyers and sellers to select a charity of their choice to whom she will donate. On the page, she states, “I believe it is extremely important to give back to our community to help those in need.”

Funding cancer research is especially important to her. She lost a sister to breast cancer in 2009 and has been an advocate for the fight against breast cancer ever since, donating a considerable amount of time in support of In the Pink of Health – Memorial Hermann Foundation. Other worthwhile cancer research foundations are supported as well, on the philanthropic page of her website: Giving Back.

In tandem with her husband Mike Karlins, the dynamic duo partners with TIRR Memorial Hermann’s “Bustin’ Clays,” a sporting clay tournament aiding in the rehabilitation of military veterans.
