Strykers release 2013 schedule

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Woodlands Strykers announced the release of their 2013 schedule.
The Strykers will be entering their second season as a member of the Texas Collegiate League. The schedule is sure to bring exciting baseball to The Woodlands area as the Strykers battle the Acadiana Cane Cutters, Brazos Valley Bombers, East Texas Pump Jacks, Texas Marshals and Victoria Generals throughout the course of the season. The start of all games is 7:05 pm.
Opening Day 2013 will be held on May 30 against the Victoria Generals. The Strykers will play the Generals again on May 31 before hosting the reining TCL Champions, East Texas Pump Jacks, June 1-2.
The rival Brazos Valley Bombers will make their first trip to Stryker Stadium for a two game series beginning June 18. The Strykers will host the Acadiana Cane Cutters July 6-7, which is the final home stand before the All-Star Break.
The TCL All-Star game is slated for July 9. The venue is yet to be determined.
The second half of the season is highlighted by a four-game home stand against the Texas Marshals and East Texas Pump Jacks July 23-26. The final home stand of the 2013 season will be August 6-7 when the Brazos Valley Bombers make the short drive down from Bryan once again.
The playoffs for this season will begin on Saturday, Aug. 10 with a one-game playoff between the No. 1 seed taking on the No. 4 seed in one game and the No. 2 seed taking on the no. 3 seed in another. The two winners of those games will then advance to the TCL championship series which runs from Sunday Aug. 11-13.
Breaking down the schedule, the Strykers will play two (2) games in the month of May, twelve (12) in the months of June and July and four (4) in August. New this year is Monday marking the league wide off day.
Also since there are six teams competing this summer, and in order to have a more balanced schedule, the teams will play two games in a back-to-back format.
The Strykers play their home games at Strykers Stadium located on the campus of The Woodlands Christian Academy.
