“The event is in memory of the children and teachers of the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting. Originally, we intended on benefiting the victim’s families of Newtown. After contacting a representative, we were told that they appreciated the gesture, and to please continue the efforts by keep it local and educating our students, parents, teachers and community. The proceeds from the benefit will go to the Montgomery County schools to keep them safer and educated. We will raise awareness throughout the event for the families, children, and teachers,” Brenda Paradise said, co-chair for the event.
