THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Do you have what it takes to be the first “Idol” in The Woodlands? If so, join the competition for a $500 grand prize and the coveted title at Baker St. Pub & Grill – The Woodlands’ first-ever “Baker Street Idol,” a six-week singing competition. The pub, located on 25 Waterway Avenue, is currently accepting entries in-store or via its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BakerStWoodlands. All entries must include an artist bio and headshot. The first round of competition will take place on Sunday, February 10, from 5 – 7 p.m. when 20 contestants will be chosen to compete every Sunday through March 24 (excluding March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day) in an elimination-style contest. Teachers and students from School of Rock, a nationwide music school in The Woodlands, will judge each weekly competition. They also will perform between each round of contestants. Results will be based on scores from judges (40%), votes calculated weekly on the pub’s Facebook page (20%) and votes from the crowd (40%). The remaining two contestants will face off at the final competition on March 24 for a chance to earn a $500 cash prize and the opportunity to perform at the pub’s Memorial Day Celebration on May 27.
