Atom Smasher joins WoodlandsHits.com lineup with morning show

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- It's a name that has been heard around Houston for many years on radio, and now, he's joining the team at WoodlandsHits.com.

Atom Smasher and the Woodlands Hits team recently announced that Smasher will host his own exclusive morning show from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. Monday through Friday on the growing, local Internet radio station.

Smasher brings with him a wealth of radio experience, having been a fan-favorite at both 104.1 KRBE and Mix 96.5 in Houston. Now, he ventures into a medium that is new to him but has him equally as excited - Internet radio.

"This is a new opportunity to do something I've never done before," Smasher said. "It gives me the freedom to do my thing and be creative. And the vibe over there [at WoodlandsHits.com] is so great. It's a family atmosphere that you just don't get at the corporate level. It's going to be fun."

Smasher's Morning Show will feature weather, news, entertainment, and of course, involve his family. "I'm a dad and I've been married for 10 years with two kids," Smasher said. "They will be on the show for sure. I'm a real dad with real kids running around and that connects with a lot of people. I've always been like, 'This is me, I'm just like you except I have a microphone.'"

The team at WoodlandsHits.com is just as excited as Smasher. "His show will be a mixture of laughs, news and great music," Chance Mock, executive vice president of WoodlandsHits.com, said. "It's something new, something fresh and it's a really cool deal."

And while it's not traditional radio like you may be accustomed to for morning shows, Smasher doesn't want this to deter you from listening. "There's so much technology that makes it possible to [hear the show] that you'll quickly see it's just like a traditional radio show in your car. It's new for me, but come take this step with me because I think you're going to like it." Atom Smasher's Morning Show kicks off Monday, August 31 on WoodlandsHits.com beginning at 7 a.m.
