Sponsors are once again on course to help find a cure for pulmonary hypertension

Montgomery County, Texas -- Slated for Friday, April 27, the CurePH golf tournament and dinner auction will raise funds for research to help find a cure for pulmonary hypertension. One hundred percent of the proceeds are distributed to help fund national research and awareness of the disease to discover better treatments and hopefully find a cure.

Sponsors and underwriters to date for this year's event include Actelion, Alorica, Amegy Bank, Continental Airlines, Encore Bank, Encysive, Entergy, Image Setters, K&M Technology, Lasagna House III, LJF Associates, Patrick Connell McGinnis-Attorney at Law, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, Pepsi, Rathwell & Nizialek, Vicki Fullerton - Re/Max, Royal Hill Distributing, TAG and Truth Chemical.

"We are so grateful for our sponsors," said Jack Stibbs, Conroe resident and Past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. "Without them our tournament would not be the success it continues to be."

This year's golf tournament and dinner auction will be held at the Cypresswood Golf Club.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a life threatening disease that affects hundreds of thousands of people in the United States. At least twelve of those live in Montgomery County.

PH is an emerging disease and progressive disorder that can severely compromise the function of the heart and lungs. The disorder causes high blood pressure on the right side of the heart and lungs. It frequently strikes women in their 20s and 30s and if misdiagnosed or left untreated, the disease can be fatal.
