Jack Wolf, IV Memorial Gives Back to Local NICU
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- On July 3, Paige and John Wolf, with their infant son Max in tow, presented neonatologist Richard Rivas, M.D. and the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands with a check for $8,000, raised as a result of the second annual Jack Wolf, IV Memorial Golf Tournament held at The Links at West Fork in Conroe. Jack was born prematurely on May 5, 2005, with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI). The tournament is held in memoriam of Jack who passed away from OI and funds raised benefit other babies and families in the NICU.
"We are all touched by the continuing generosity of the Wolf Family," said Director of Children's Services Elizabeth Kutchback, RN, BSN. “The $8,000 raised will be used to purchase recliners for our NICU parents to do Kangaroo Care with their babies. Kangaroo Care is the phrase used when an infant is being held with skin-to-skin contact between the infant and the person holding them. These recliners are so comfortable and beneficial in promoting bonding, interaction and relaxation for the infant and parent."
