TV Production Team to Hold Auditions

Hollywood Comes To The Woodlands For Sitcom Filming

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- RTF Productions, Inc. Owner, Ron Stern has announced that auditions for a television series pilot to be filmed in The Woodlands area will take place on Sunday, August 10, at 2 p.m. The auditions will be at Woodlands Dance Academy, 27220 Glen Loch, The Woodlands, TX 77381.

Actors are required to bring head shot, resume and to be prepared to perform a short monologue. For actors wanting to audition as ballet students, those dance auditions will begin at 4:30 p.m. Stern announced a top-notch professional team is contracted to film the pilot episode the week of August 20th and the series slated for filming in early 2009.

Hollywood veteran writer, Doreen Spicer heads the writing team for the Sitcom series whose productions include Disney’s movie, “Jump In” as well as “The Proud Family” Disney series. The Director is Eric Seaton, who brings years of credits with such shows as “That’s So Raven”, Suite Life of Zack & Cody”, and “Cory In The House”. The on-set L.A. acting coach will be Richard Lyons known as the on-set acting coach to the stars (Queen Latifah in “SET IT OFF” and worked on the majority of all of her films (who later received and Oscar nomination and won a Golden Globe & Sag Award). Lyons coached Golden Globe, SAG & Oscar Award Winner Jennifer Hudson, in her debut film performance in “Dream Girls”. He has worked with Shia LaBeouf on “Even Stevens”, Usher, and Chris Brown, just to name a few of his credits.

The comedy sitcom is centered on The Woodlands national pop/hip hop recording group known as “Savvy”. Principal roles are needed for African American male and female to play parents of young Sarah; Performing Arts High School Teacher and Principal; and a Classical Ballet Instructor. Over 30 students will be used as extras in this first episode. Stern says they are looking for students, ages 13-18 male & female, all types of funny kids, all funny character types, classical ballet, tap, hip hop, singers, actors, musicians.

Production Assistants are also needed and can apply on August 10 as well. Stern says plans are to keep the entire 2009 series production within the greater Houston area. We know that there is a wealth of talent here and we are hoping to tap into it.

RTF Productions, Inc. formed the national recording group SAVVY in 2004. Savvy has toured the country for Radio Disney, recorded a CD and two DVDs touch the hearts of kids and teens. Savvy is a concept group in that the older artists spin out of the group for solo careers and other endeavors as younger members are brought in. The next generation of Savvy will consist of six members: Sarah LeMaire, Mariah McBride, Shaylen Carroll, Andrew Stern, Alan Shaw, and Drew Reinartz. It’s their dream to be the next television stars and RTF continues to work on making that happen, right here in Texas.
