Gas Station Clerk Prevents Armed Robbery

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Three male suspects have been arrested in connection with the attempted armed robbery of the Exxon gas station located at the intersection of Research Forest Drive and Hewitt.

On Wednesday, March 10, at approximately 3:50 a.m., the gas station clerk saw a suspicious car in the parking lot and locked the front door and called 9-1-1.

The clerk was on the phone with 9-1-1 when one of the suspects approached the front door carrying a black handgun and tried to enter the store. When the suspect realized the door was locked he retreated leaving in the car with the other suspects.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Shenandoah P.D. patrol officers located the vehicle traveling east on Research Forest and the suspects were arrested. Bandana face masks and 3 BB pistols were found in the car.

The following suspects were arrested and face charges of Criminal Attempt of Aggravated Robbery: Detayvious Rashad Merrill, 19, Robert Perry Forman, 18, and a juvenile, 16. All three suspects are from the Spring/Harris County area.
