MDA Stride & Ride to be held at Mall
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Teams of dedicated individuals will meet at The Woodlands Mall on Saturday, March 27, to participate in the annual MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Stride & Ride. Several hundred participants will walk or ride in strollers, scooters and wheel chairs to raise funds for the organization.
Participants should meet in the JCPenney court beginning at 8 a.m. and the event will begin at 9 a.m. Last year approximately 400 individuals participated in the event, making one lap around the interior of The Woodlands Mall.
"The MDA Stride & Ride is community event, and we are pleased to be able to host it for the fifth year. Through funds raised by teams at events such as this, MDA is able to provide families with support and also continue the needed research," says John Pew, general manager of The Woodlands Mall. "The shopping center is a perfect place for Stride & Ride – no matter what the weather."
The MDA a voluntary health agency, which is a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizens aimed at conquering muscular dystrophy, which affects more than a million Americans.
