Boy's basketball roundup: Oak Ridge beats Willis in overtime thriller

Oak Ridge guard Brent Burress hits a game-tying 3-pointer and he and forward Curtis Rosinski combined to score 12 of the War Eagles’ 15 points in overtime to beat Willis 73-66 in a non-district matchup Friday afternoon.

After squandering an eight-point lead in the fourth quarter, Burress hit a trey in the corner with 7.6 seconds left to tie the game at 58 to send the game into the extra period.

Rosinski scored the first five points in overtime for Oak Ridge, and then Burress hit four free throws to put the War Eagles up 67-59. The Wildcats rallied to cut the lead to two with 11 seconds left, but Oak Ridge sealed the win from the free-throw line.

Burress led the War Eagles with 18 points, with Rosinski adding 15 points, Nick Prejean with 12 points and nine rebounds and Tanner Doyel had 10.

Oak Ridge (7-9, 0-1) will head into the holiday break on a high note and will resume play at the Conroe Christmas Classic next Wednesday.

College Park 90, Bryan 57: The Cavaliers scored 31 points in the first quarter on its way to a big win heading into the holiday break.

The Cavs outscored the Vikings 24-14 in the third quarter to take a 72-45 lead.

Zach Wright led College Park () with 17 points and nine rebounds, with Layton Zinsmeister with 13 points and 10 assists. J.T. Mauck had 10 points and Evan Cooper had nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Cavs will face Cy-Fair at home on Tuesday night.
