Boys basketball roundup: Cavaliers rout Kingwood

Zach Wright scored 21 points and Evan Cooper scored 20 as College Park beat Kingwood 61-43 to help the Cavaliers to move to 2-0 in District 14-5A play.

College Park went on an 18-8 run in the second quarter and a 16-8 run in the third quarter to pull away from the Mustangs.

Desmond Fleming also had nine blocked shots for College Park (18-6).

The Woodlands 82, Deer Park 66: Garret Colonna scored 29 points in the Highlanders’ non-district win on the road.

A 29-point second quarter helped The Woodlands (20-2) to take a 42-32 halftime lead.

Hayden Galatas and Nolan Cass each had 11 points.

Conroe 65, Oak Ridge 49: The War Eagles were outscored 17-8 in the fourth quarter to fall to 0-2 in district play.

The Tigers outscored Oak Ridge 19-8 in the second quarter to take a 33-22 halftime lead.

Curtis Rosinski had 21 points to lead Oak Ridge (5-10, 0-2).
