THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Children's Museum in the Panther Creek Shopping Center, has launched its schedule of new classes and programs beginning January and running through May.

One class that fills quickly is the E.A.R.L.Y. Robotics class (Engineering and Robotics Learned Young) and the museum is encouraging families to make their reservations early.

"Our Robotics class is unparalleled for both boys and girls, ages 4 to 8 years of age and 7 to 11 years of age," said Angela Colton, executive director for the Museum. "The E.A.R.L.Y. Robotics and Advanced E.A.R.L.Y Robotics program introduces children to engineering while developing a strong understanding of the basic fundamentals of building and mechanical principles."

Students will build robots and realistic motorized models in a team-building atmosphere. Teams select pilots to operate the robot motors using a basic on/off switches to manipulate through given obstacles and challenges to help complete missions.

"Children learn by doing and learning in a team environment is encouraging to watch," Colton said. "Parents are always thrilled at the skill their children walk away with from this class and I enjoy that level of imaginative play I witness in the groups."
