THE WOODLANDS, Texas –– The Grief Resource Center is offering an upcoming class for CEU credit hours. The event, facilitated by Mary Lambrecht, M.S, LMFT, will be held at the Homewood Suites located in Shenandoah and will focus on "Sorrow and Loss: Helping the Bereaved in Navigating Life".

"The Grief Resource Center is a place where people can grieve their loss and move from hurting to heeling," said Trish Anderson, executive director for The Grief Resource Center. "We have now partnered with Mary Lambrecht to host classes for licensed professionals needing CEU credit hours who want to learn more about the grieving process."

TGRC has been inundated with calls and walk-ins of those who have lost someone dear to them, she said.

"Loss doesn't necessarily have to be 'death' for one to grieve," Anderson said. "Loss can be the loss of a job, the loss of a relationship, as well as the loss of a loved one. The process of grief is imminent and must be respected."

Mary Lambrecht is facilitating the class and is a licensed marriage and family therapist.

"For both professional and family members who care for the bereaved, this seminar will offer pathways to knowledgeably and compassionately introduce hope in the midst of grief," Lambrecht said. "I will provide current research, information, and practical guidelines in assisting the bereaved."

Topics covered in the "Sorrow and Loss" program will include: Narrative and Play Therapy for helping professional in assisting grieving adults and children; and Family Roles, Rules and Rituals that impact the mourning process.

The program will be held 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Feb 24 at the Homewood Suites located at 29813 Interstate 45 North, and offers six CEU credit hours.
