THE WOODLANDS, Texas –– Continuing their support of the local community, Hodges Collision Center has recently donated $1,000 to Children’s Safe Harbor.

The goal of Children's Safe Harbor is to reduce the trauma of child victims ages 2 to 17 and their non-offending caregivers by facilitating a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary team approach to intervention, investigation, prosecution and treatment of child sexual and severe physical abuse so that the child does not have to re-tell their story over and over. It provides a safe, child-friendly place that coordinates all of the professionals mandated to respond to child abuse.

Serving Montgomery, San Jacinto, and Walker counties, Children’s Safe Harbor brings together local law enforcement, forensic interviews, medical examination, Children’s Protective Services, counseling, and the district attorney’s office for prosecution. The agency received an average of 3,000 reports of abuse last year alone.

“We are proud to give this donation to Children’s Safe Harbor for all of the important services they provide to children who have been abused,” said Steve Guinn, owner of Hodges Collision Center. “We are grateful that both of our collision centers have performed so successfully in light of the recent recession and we are fortunate to be able to give back to the community. We not only care about car repair, but we care about the community as well. Who better to give to than to local kids and the charitable causes that support them.”

Victoria J. Constance, PhD, Children’s Safe Harbor executive director and CEO of the board of directors, added, “We are extremely grateful for this donation from Hodges Collision Center. Their on-going support for our children’s’ advocacy center has been much appreciated Every dollar matters as we help children who have the courage to battle sexual abuse.”
