Cooper Dragons prepare for SPC
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The John Cooper School athletic programs are gearing up for the winter Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) Championships.
The Lady Dragons will be defending their SPC title on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Conroe ISD Natatorium.
The SPC Championships in both boys’ and girls’ basketball and soccer will be held Feb. 10-11 in Houston.
Both basketball teams make final preparations with home games on Monday with Providence Classical. The girls’ game tips off at 5 p.m. followed by the boys’ game at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Dragons are 18-7 while the boys’ team stands at 12-14.
Heading into the SPC Championship, the Lady Dragons soccer team is 11-1-1 with recent victories over Episcopal (3-2), Saint Mary’s Hall (2-1) and St. John’s (2-0). The team was undefeated at home this season.
The boys’ soccer team enters the SPC Championship at 12-3-3.
The spring sports season at The John Cooper School opens up Feb. 10 when the Lady Dragons softball team hosts Concordia Lutheran at 5 p.m.
