Softball playoffs: The Woodlands advances
HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Woodlands High School softball pitcher Abby Langkamp delivered three hits, drove in two runs, and earned the win in the circle with four innings of work as the No. 1 state-ranked Lady Highlanders left no doubt Friday night as to which team deserves to move on to the Region II-5A semifinals.
Lamgkamp’s hitting and pitching heroics led The Woodlands to a 12-5 victory over Tomball in a one-game region quarterfinals playoff at Sam Houston State University. The Woodlands extended a 1-0 lead with three runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth for a 10-0 lead.
The Lady Highlanders will take on either Temple or McKinney Boyd next week in the region semifinals.

Alyssa Jorgensen added two hits and two RBIs while Faith Bohack and Kayla Prater contributed with two hits apiece. Paige McDuffee joined in with a double and two RBIs.
The Oak Ridge High School softball team saw its historic season come to an end on Friday with a 10-0 loss to No. 8 state-ranked District 13-5A champion Klein Collins at Magnolia West. It was the first region quarterfinals appearance for Oak Ridge, which managed just three hits.
