Lacrosse: The Woodlands Junior High sweeps titles
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – All three of The Woodlands Junior High School lacrosse teams are once again All Houston City Champions.
Each went undefeated in regular season Houston Area play and in the Houston City Tournament. These victories mark the ninth straight All Houston City Championship for The Woodlands eighth-grade team and the fourth year in a row that The Woodlands seventh-grade and Young Guns (Grades 5/6) have captured the titles.
Coach Keith Tintle and coach Al Christopher led the seventh- and eighth-grade teams to their Houston City Championship victories on April 29. The eighth-grade team defeated the Outlaws 6-5 to capture the title and the seventh-grade team defeated Hylax 13-3 to win the championship game.
The following weekend, coaches Jeff Anderson, David Zimmerman and Mike Prochaska led the Young Guns Team (grades 5/6) to victory in the championship game against Hylax with a score of 15-0.
