THE WOODLANDS, Texas –– Committee members had much to cheer about as the WineFest event held April 26 at Macy’s Furniture Gallery at The Woodlands Mall raised more than $110,000 to benefit the Montgomery County Women’s Center.

Guests enjoyed American wines by more than 50 domestic wineries and samplings of dishes from more than a dozen local restaurants.

“We were absolutely amazed by the outpouring of generosity by our sponsors, participating wineries and restaurants, volunteers, and especially Macy’s Furniture Store, who has dedicated the store to us for the past eleven years of WineFest,” said Sarah Raleigh, president and CEO of the center. “This year was a tremendous success and a lot of fun. The funds raised are more crucial than ever before in our goal to provide safe shelter, crisis intervention, and support services to victims and survivors of family violence, sexual assault, stalking and abuse. We diligently continue to provide education about such issues in Montgomery County and surrounding communities as we proudly mark our twenty-fifth anniversary.”

The featured restaurants included America’s, Cru A Wine Bar, Crescent Moon, Carrabba’s, Culver’s of The Woodlands, The Grotto, Kirby's Steakhouse, La Trattoria Tuscano, Macaroni Grill, Mi Cocina, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, The Sassy Apple, Tavoli Bistro and Via Emilia.

The Montgomery County Women’s Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, private organization.
