THE WOODLANDS, Texas –– Milstead Automotive will host a Family Fun Day, Saturday, May 19 to showcase summer safety tips vacationing families.
The free event is set for 9 a.m. to noon. Snoopy, provided by MetLife and Shelley Rollins Agency, will be on hand for children to meet and greet.
“May is an exciting time for families to plan their vacation dreams and we want our residents to have the safest possible vacation,” said Amy Milstead, president of Milstead Automotive. “We will have fun activities for children in addition to some much needed safety protocols along with free child ID kits.”
Children can also enjoy activities presented by The Woodlands Children’s Museum.
“Last year we had such a great time at this event,” said Angela Colton, executive director for the museum. “The kids have a great time at our booth and parents walk away with the security of getting free ID kits for their children. It’s a real family day and a great experience.”
Amy Milstead has also invited Montgomery County Sheriff Tommy Gage to announce the winner of the Milstead Video Ambassador Award.
“Every year we offer a contest for young teen drivers to submit an anti-distracted driving video for a peer-to-peer safety message,” Milstead said. “Last year’s winners from Caney Creek had us all in tears because their video was so remarkable. This year’s winner will also be as moving and will be featured on the Milstead Automotive home page.”
Last year’s winner, as well as this year’s recipient, will be featured on FOX26 News, as well as $500 in cash and prizes. Videos are still being accepted though May 1 is the final cut-off date for submission.
