THE WOODLANDS, Texas – College Park High School head football coach Richard Carson had some good news on Wednesday concerning the four members of the program involved in a Tuesday morning rollover crash.

Carson addressed the large gathering in the school’s gym during Meet the Cavaliers Night on Wednesday.

“We had a tough week here,” Carson said. “The great thing is that they are going to get through it. A couple of them are here tonight. And they’re going to get better and recover from that (accident).”

The four were involved in a one car accident early Tuesday morning on their way to football practice. One of the passengers was thrown from the SUV and taken to Houston’s Memorial Hermann Hospital by LifeFlight. The driver and two other passengers were taken to local hospitals.

The accident occurred on the I-45 service road.

Carson said that there was an immediate outpouring of concern from coaches around the state.

“My phone immediately starting blowing,” he said. “They just wanted to know, ‘What can we do? Our team said a prayer for your kids today.’ I’m proud to be a coach. There are a lot of reasons but that’s one of them.”
