THE WOODLANDS, Texas—“A jug of wine, and thou.” Thou can be your significant other, your BFF (Best Friend Forever), or the neighborhood block party group. At Pinot’s Palette you can paint the town red with whomever you please, while sipping your favorite ‘fruit of the vine.’ The latest rage for a date night, a ‘girls’ night out’ party, or a company team-building event, people who paint together are more likely to…well, have fun together.

Grand opening September 28 & 29

Pinot’s Palette, an interactive painting studio for group sessions, differentiates itself with an upscale setting, and numerous custom service nuances. Owners Alana and Gene Padgett have leveraged eight years in event planning to provide more than an art lesson…it’s an event!

The grand opening this weekend will take place in their spacious 2800 sq. ft. facility which can accommodate 48 painters. A beautifully decorated 700 sq. ft. private room is available for birthdays, bachelorette parties, anniversaries, family reunions, and corporate events. Private parties can choose from a portfolio of over 300 paintings or request something special that one of their six artists will paint and prepare for the private party to replicate.

You don’t have to be a Rembrandt to try your hand at paint on canvas. Their skilled artists will guide you step-by-step, through the painting du jour - the featured piece for the evening. The session is a ‘make-it–and-take-it’ so you leave with your masterpiece.

“Our objective is to put a paintbrush in everybody’s hand,” said Alana Padgett. Having a liquor license enables them to put a wine glass in the other hand. Yes, they’re licensed to sell the vino at Pinot’s. If wine is not your beverage of choice, they also have beer. The guys can have their male-bonding session with their favorite brew; kind of a ‘buds with suds’ evening.

“It doesn’t necessarily require imbibing to paint well,” said Padgett, “But those who participated in the private preview event last weekend, said it did tend to lessen their inhibitions, making for a more enjoyable painting experience.” At the very least, you won’t care how bad your painting turns out.

Gene and Alana Padgett fell in love with the concept when they painted at another Pinot’s Palette location earlier this year on Valentine’s Day. Having previously completed a 6-week wine course at Rice University, the concept was the perfect combination of things they loved - art, wine, and socialization. In just seven months, they’re in business and opening their doors at 3091 College Park Drive, Suite 123, adjacent to Uptown Salons, on SH 242.

Pinot’s Palette grand opening is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, September 28, from 7 to 9 p.m., and September 29, from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday’s session is not quite at capacity, and there is plenty of space available for Friday’s grand opening event if a large group wants to attend. At the two grand opening events the wine, beer, and soft drinks will be complimentary; appetizers will be catered by Hubbell and Hudson. When booking classes online, use the Grand Opening 15% discount code GR0912. Walk-ins will always be graciously welcomed and accommodated if possible. Call 936-321-2787 ahead of time to check on space availability.
