THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Valentine’s Day invokes a romanticism that even the coldest of hearts can’t dismiss. Nowhere is there a more abundant list of romantic places than in The Woodlands. So if preparing to propose, or just wanting to spend some quality time, consider taking your beloved to one of the following locations.

The elevated observation deck at South Shore Park provides a beautiful view of Lake Woodlands where “The Rise of the Midgard Serpent” resides. On the east shore is a picturesque gazebo to view the gorgeous setting sun.

On a smaller scale is the charming gazebo in the secluded Trace Creek subdivision nestled between the Panther Creek and East Indian Springs villages. Within walking distance is Deer Rush Pond where deer are reported to still drink at this scenic retreat. There are many other small ponds scattered throughout The Woodlands to enjoy quiet time together, and 190 miles of trails to walk hand-in-hand.

Sail into the sunset and enjoy an elegant dining experience on one of the Waterway Cruisers, and for a truly aesthetic setting, retreat to the beautiful Asian-inspired Koi Garden located on the south side of The Woodlands Waterway. A variety of exotic plants embellish the gardens that surround the koi pond that is stocked with selective and colorful Japanese koi.

“One of the most beautiful and romantic settings is St. Peters Gate in the Village of Sterling Ridge,” said Chuck Bielert in Community Services for the Woodlands Township. “The site and surrounding area is just so scenic.”

For the ‘big day’ St. Peters Gate, or the pavilions at Rob Fleming or North Shore Parks can be reserved for weddings through the Woodlands Township, but first you have to ‘pop the question.’
