THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The national award-winning troupe will be performing their highly acclaimed modern dance “Runaways” along with their contemporary piece “STAY” during The Performing in New York Showcase at the Citigroup Ailey Theater.

Founded in 2005 by renowned ballet teacher Kat Wildish, in partnership with The Ailey Extension, the Performing in New York Showcase is designed to provide aspiring dancers a rare opportunity: the chance to perform real classical repertoire in a professional theater in midtown Manhattan.

Mrs. Dana Loving-Sparks, artistic director at In-Step was thrilled to get the news. “I couldn’t be more proud of these girls and how hard they’ve worked. Their dedication, resolve and energy shows in these pieces and to have a program like The Performing in New York Showcase recognize that is amazing. To be able to perform at such an historic theater is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our girls.”

Through the Arts in Motion, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, Mrs. Loving-Sparks hopes to be able to raise the funds to defray some of the cost of getting the girls to New York. “We are looking for corporate sponsors and will be holding a number of fundraisers between now and March,” said Mrs. Loving-Sparks.
