THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Christian Academy, an independent, Christ-centered college preparatory school serving 400 students from preschool through 12th grade, hosted their official groundbreaking ceremony for a lower school building on May 6.

In the spring of 2012 Woodlands Christian launched the Build | Grow | Excel Capital Campaign with the goal of raising $3.5 million to fund construction of a permanent 28,000 square foot Lower School building creating 20 new classrooms. This new building will serve the needs of current and future students as enrollment continues to increase.

Established almost 20 years ago, the mission of The Woodlands Christian Academy is to provide a Christian college preparatory education that integrates learning with biblical faith and challenges its students to reach their highest potential – spiritually, academically, physically, and socially – for the glory of Jesus Christ. Located on expansive and wooded acreage off of Highway 242, Woodlands Christian has become one of the premier private schools in South Montgomery County, thanks to strong leadership, commitment to its mission, and prudent financial management by Head of School, Julie Ambler.

The capital campaign was chaired by lifelong Woodlands’ residents, Judy and Raymond Duroy, who have four children currently enrolled in the school and one who has graduated. Over the past 16 years, Judy and Raymond have watched their children grow and thrive at Woodlands Christian and were excited to lead the initiative to grow the school.
