Cooper’s Turner selected for All-American Team
THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Taylor Turner, a freshman at The John Cooper School, was selected as a Maxpreps Freshman All-American according to Maxpreps.com, a website which recognizes athletes in high school sports.
Turner is one of 16 freshmen selected from across the nation for the All-American team. In her position as a libero/defensive specialist, she finished the season with 777 digs and 33 aces, supporting Cooper’s 34-10 season; the team’s best finish since joining the Southwest Preparatory Conference. She was also named the team’s Most Valuable Defensive Player.
“Taylor did a commendable job for us defensively this past season,” said Jim “Smoki” Richardson, head coach for varsity volleyball at The John Cooper School. “She helped stabilize our team’s backcourt production allowing us to run a more diverse offense. I look forward to seeing her back next season.”
