ORWALL teams face each other in tourney openers

TOMBALL, Texas – Oak Ridge/Woodlands Area Little League (ORWALL) All-Star teams opened District 28 play in two tournaments at Tomball on Monday. In both tournaments, the ORWALL National and ORWALL American teams faced off against each other.

The 11-13 Intermediate district tournament and 9-10 district tournament opened on Monday. Both tournaments include five teams. Each also has all-star teams from hosts Tomball as well as from Montgomery and Northwest 45.

ORWALL National took the 9-10 game by a score of 13-3 and advances to a 7 p.m. Wednesday semifinals against either Tomball or Northwest 45.

ORWALL American must fight its way out of the loser’s bracket of the double-elimination tournament with consecutive games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (all at 7 p.m.) in order to make it to the tournament championship game at 7 p.m. Friday, where a win there forces a second and final championship game at 10 a.m. Saturday for both tournaments.

In the 11-13 Intermediate district tournament, ORWALL American outlasted ORWALL National 13-11 to advance to a 7 p.m. Wednesday semifinals matchup with either Montgomery or Tomball.

ORWALL National meets Northwest 45 at 7 p.m. Tuesday in an elimination game.

Beginning Monday, June 24, ORWALL will host four District 28 All-Star Tournaments. Starting with the 10-11 all-stars and Senior all-stars on Monday, ORWALL also hosts the Majors and Juniors District 28 All-Star Tournaments beginning Tuesday, June 25.

At 7 p.m. Monday, June 24, ORWALL National takes on Northwest 45 while ORWALL American meets Montgomery in the 10-11 district tournament. At the same time, ORWALL faces Tomball in the Seniors district tournament.

Tuesday, June 25, tournament openers find ORWALL American battling Northwest 45 at 7 p.m. in the Majors district tournament. The winner goes up against ORWALL National at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in the three-team, double-elimination tournament.

ORWALL National goes up against Montgomery at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, in the three-team, double-elimination Juniors district tournament. The winner gets Northwest 45 at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27.
