THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Colton Farmer threw two touchdown passes in leading the College Park High School football team over Katy Taylor, 14-13, in a wild affair at Woodforest Bank Stadium on Saturday night.

After a hard fought, non scoring first quarter, College Park (3-0) broke the ice in the second quarter as Jayden Holden hauled in a Farmer 38-yard touchdown pass. Add Kris Sharp's successful extra point kick and the Cavaliers were up 7-0 with 10:47 remaining in the half.

On the ensuing drive, Katy Taylor (0-3, 0-1) tacked on a 42-yard field goal by kicker Braden Bortka.

The Mustangs added a Clay Horgersen to Dane Myers 14-yard scoring strike giving them a 10-7 lead with 1:03 remaining in the half.

After a lightning delay of an hour after the halftime festivities concluded, both defenses held strong until late in the quarter when Farmer threw to an open Nicholas Black who proceeded to run to the end zone to give College Park the lead. Kris Sharp made good on the extra-point kick to make the score 14-10 in favor of the Cavaliers.

Katy Taylor shut out the Cavaliers in the fourth with the only points being a Bortka 44-yard field goal with 9:39 left in the game.

With a little over a minute remaining, Katy Taylor had an opportunity as they forced a Cavaliers fumble and their offense was back in business again. It was all for naught though as Stephan Johnson came up with a big interception and the game was virtually over.

Farmer was 13-24 with 179 yards through the air and the two TD passes. Holden corralled two passes for 42 yards and the TD. Black caught five balls for 68 yards and the TD.

Johnson's INT late in the game was his third of the season, College Park's Ryder Lucas also had a pick.

Dane Myers ran for 172 yards for Katy Taylor.

The Cavaliers are on the road next week for a 7:30 p.m. Friday non-district game with Clear Brook at CCISD Veterans Stadium.
