Student Athletes of the Week - November 5th

The WOL Sports Student Athletes of the Week presented by Mr. Rooter are Senior Cross-Country runner Maddie McLellan of The Woodlands High School and Junior running back Patrick Carr of The Woodlands High School.

Maddie McLellan - Senior Runner - The Woodlands HS

Maddie captured the girls individual Region II Class 5A Cross-Country Championship last week in Arlington, Texas. Maddie is the also the WOL Sports Female Student-Athlete of the week for the second consecutive week, as she won the girls individual District 14-5A championship last week. Maddie leads the Lady Highlander Cross-Country team in the 2013 UIL Class 5A State Championship meet on Saturday, November 9, in Round Rock.

Patrick Carr - Junior Running Back - The Woodlands HS

Patrick led the Highlander football team to a share of the District 14-5A championship last Friday in The Woodlands 31-10 win over College Park. Carr had 14 carries for 187 yards and two touchdowns, including a 63-yard score. This is the second selection for Patrick to be named WOL Sports Male Student-Athlete of the Week, as he was previously named on September 29. Patrick leads The Woodlands into their final regular season game of the year on Friday, November 8, against Oak Ridge at Woodforest Bank Stadium.
