Warriors fall to Brazos Christian

BRENHAM, Texas - The 2013 football season came to a close on Friday for The Woodlands Christian Academy football team. The Warriors fell 38-22 to unbeaten Brazos Christian in the TAPPS Division III state quarterfinals at Brenham High School.

The Warriors (7-5) were unable to stop Brazos Christian's running game. Eagles running back Jesse Honnas rushed for 278 yards and three touchdowns. As a team, Brazos Christian churned out 431 yards on the ground.

Brazos Christian led 19-0 at halftime before the Warriors answered with a 1-yard touchdown run from Michael Sacks.

The Warriors trailed 38-6 in the fourth quarter before Luke Hudson broke off a 69-yard touchdown run and Sacks, with less than a minute to play, threw 20 yards to Kyle Kontor for the final score of the game.

Sacks threw to Dirk Sanford for one two-point conversion and ran for another.

Hudson led the Warriors' ground attack with 156 yards rushing on 15 carries and Sanford was the team's leading receiver with three catches for 48 yards.
