Coaches talk hoops at 14-5A Roundball Round-Up

CONROE, Texas – Boys’ basketball coaches from the four Conroe ISD high schools were on hand Wednesday at the Lone Star Convention Center to talk about their respective teams at the 38th Annual 14-5A Roundball Round-Up sponsored by the Conroe Noon Lions Club.

Clifton McNeely (College Park High School boys’ basketball coach), Dale Reed (The Woodlands High School boys’ basketball coach) and Joe Price (Oak Ridge High School boys’ basketball coach) all spoke briefly about their team’s top players and the expectations for the 2013-14 season.

Price, a long-time head coach in his first season at Oak Ridge, earned his 500th career coaching victory on Tuesday, a thrilling 73-70 double overtime victory at home over visiting Katy Seven Lakes.

The District 14-5A season begins on Tuesday, Dec. 17, with The Woodlands hosting Conroe while Oak Ridge visits Bryan. College Park raises the curtain on the district season on Friday, Dec. 20, at Oak Ridge. All games are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.
