THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Development Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Howard Hughes Corporation (NYSE:HHC), has begun construction of Creekside Village Green, the centerpiece for the highly-anticipated Creekside Park Village Center in The Woodlands. The Village Green will encompass a scenic tree-lined park with a water feature surrounded by a lawn and pergolas for shade. A 4,500-square-foot restaurant will anchor the west end of the park and two 40,000 square-foot split level retail/office buildings will flank the north and south sides.

Tree-lined park and water feature will be centerpiece for new village center.

“We envision Creekside Village Green as a unique component to our eighth village shopping center,” said Paul Layne, Executive Vice President of Master Planned Communities for The Howard Hughes Corporation. “The addition of a central greenspace and family friendly water feature will encourage people to enjoy the outdoors while shopping and dining. The Village Green will also be walkable from adjacent new neighborhoods in the Village of Creekside Park, such as Liberty Branch.”

Designed by Bailey Architects, Creekside Village Green will feature Craftsman-style architecture in keeping with the design of other public buildings, parks and signage throughout the Village of Creekside Park. Lush perennial plantings and walkways will enhance the pedestrian experience throughout the entire Creekside Park Village Center. Tribble & Stephens is the contractor.

Creekside Park Village Center will be anchored by an H-E-B grocery store and Walgreen’s Drug Store. Signed tenants at Creekside Village Green include Creekside Village Dry Cleaners, Crust Pizzeria, Dentistry of Creekside Park, Realty Executives, Studio A Pilates, Subway and Woodlands Family Dental. Other tenants at Creekside Park Village Center will include neighborhood shops and services, professional offices and restaurants. Primrose School is already open. First Bank and Walgreen’s are under construction, and First Victoria National Bank has purchased a site in the center.

The project is situated off Kuykendahl Road, between Creekside Forest Drive and Creekside Green Drive in the Village of Creekside Park. The Village Green is slated for completion in fall of 2014.
