THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Members of David Elementary Fourth Grade Choir performed at the Texas Children’s Hospital Groundbreaking Ceremony in The Woodlands on Friday, January 31, 2014. David Elementary was named in honor of Texas Children’s patient, David Vetter, and every year the school hosts a fun run that benefits the work happening at Texas Children’s Hospital. The school has raised almost $350,000 for the hospital since 1994. The hospital asked the choir to perform “This Land is Your Land,” while the ground was broken for the new hospital and “Happy Birthday” to Texas Children’s while the cake was presented.

Texas Children’s Hospital broke ground just south of St. Luke’s Hospital in The Woodlands, on a 548,000-square-foot facility designed to serve children and families, offering inpatient and outpatient specialty pediatric care. The hospital is expected to be completed in 2017.
