Ridgeway, College Park blank Conroe

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Beau Ridgeway fired a three-hit shutout and the College Park High School baseball team made good use of five hits in blanking Conroe, 7-0, Tuesday at The Diamonds.

Ridgeway struck out 10 in going the distance for the Cavaliers, who improved to 12-6 ovearll and 2-0 in District 14-5A play.

Ridgeway got all the run support he needed in the first inning when the Cavaliers struck for three runs. College Park added single markers in each of the second, third, fifth and sixth innings as Ridgeway coasted through the Conroe lineup.

Nate Fisbeck had a hit and drove in three runs to lead the Cavs’ attack. Jacob Mardick (RBI), Tyler Mortenson (RBI) and Justen Heinrich also added hits. Noah Vaughan walked twice.

College Park takes a three-game win streak on the road Friday for a 7 p.m. game at A&M Consolidated, 0-3 in district play, before returning home for a 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, encounter with Lufkin.
