THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Republic Grille will open its doors in Panther Creek in April of 2014, bringing a blend of Texas and Southern cooking that residents of The Woodlands are sure to enjoy. Exuding an eclectic Texas Hill Country atmosphere, The Republic Grille will offer lunch and dinner during the week, plus a full Texas breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. Patrons will enjoy full service dining as well as a select list of craft beers, wines and a full bar.

The Republic Grille appeals to all palates with a range of dishes including blackened flounder with a crawfish sauce, shrimp and grits, double-cut pork chops and certified Angus burgers. On the lighter side, customers will enjoy a grilled-salmon salad, BLT with avocado and fish tacos. Breakfast will highlight Texas favorites such as quail and eggs, migas, huevos rancheros and pecan pancakes.

Entrepreneur Terry McBurney has snapped up a jewel of a location in the Panther Creek Shopping Center located at the corner of The Woodlands Parkway and Gosling Road. Calling upon his extensive background in the restaurant business, including his leadership of the Montgomery County Restaurant Association and as owner of Republic Payment Systems, McBurney had been trying to entice fellow operators on a concept that heralded the history of The Woodlands and finally was so enthusiastic about the idea he decided to take on the endeavor himself.

"My goal was not to just create another great restaurant but to create a concept deeply rooted in its local history" McBurney says. "I want to provide patrons with a glimpse into the extraordinary vision put forth by Mr. George Mitchell and his creation of The Woodlands. The Woodlands has become a multi-cultural community and a travel destination, drawing millions of visitors each year and this is my way of offering those who dine at The Republic Grille insight into how our home town came to be.”

On display throughout The Republic Grille will be historical photos, paintings and memorabilia of The Woodlands, helping to tell the story of how the idyllic planned community became founder Mitchell's prize creation.
