THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands LearningRx has the solution for old puzzles after a few key pieces are lost.

Help Solve the Puzzle: The Woodlands LearningRx Partners with Grant’s Eco Art

“You can donate your incomplete puzzle pieces and, at the same time, honor Autism Awareness Month,” director Kim Bellini said.

All puzzles collected will be donated to Grant’s Eco Art.

Grant Manier is an author, artist and special needs activist. He decided not to let his own autism diagnosis stop him from excelling in life and contributing to preserving the planet.

Manier developed an obsessive repetitive behavior for tearing paper at an early age. By his teens, he began collecting paper and recycling as an affordable way to continue his passion.

Today, his eco-friendly artwork is capturing the attention of his community and the national media.

“Grant is an amazing young man who has autism -- and also has an awesome talent,” Bellini said. “He creates works of art from magazines, puzzles and other recycled items -- and his work has been recognized both locally and nationally.”

To support Manier, The Woodlands LearningRx is holding a used puzzle drive for the entire month of April. All puzzles will be donated to Manier for his artistic use.

New clients who bring in a puzzle to their scheduled cognitive skills assessment will receive an additional $25 off their testing fee. Assessment testing, along with other evaluations, helps the center determine the right brain-training program for clients.

“While the test does not diagnose medical or psychological issues, it does help identify weaknesses in brain skills so we can target them with customized brain-training exercises,” Bellini explained.

The Woodlands LearningRx uses this information to determine the best program for each individual.

“If you haven't scheduled an assessment, now is a great time to do it,” Bellini said. “You’ll be helping out a great cause – and taking the first step to building your brain power.”

Finding fun ways to build cognitive skills is The Woodlands LearningRx’s mission. The brain-training center transforms a student’s ability to learn at a core, cognitive level – developing individualized programs to strengthen attention, memory, processing speed and problem solving.
