THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The following are Conroe ISD campus updates for April 9 - April 15.

Broadway Elementary School

Kindergarten Round Up is next week at Broadway. All incoming Kindergarteners will be registering for the 2014-2015 year.

Our Fourth grade is going on a Field trip next week to Sam Houston State University.

Thursday, April 10, is our Kindergarten, first and second grade Reading Restaurant from 6 - 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, April 11 is our annual Movin and Groovin with Moms; it begins at 7 a.m.

To kick off this character trait, everyone in the school is going to where gray! Buckalew Elementary School

Congratulations to the following students who received a “Principal's Award” medallion for demonstrating our Keys to Success: Elise Hankel, Anthony Austin, Hannah Kim, Amalia Lopez, Mia Kologinczak, Caleb McLend, Chase Tetlow, Christopher Prihoda, Owen Woodside, and Colin Vance.

The annual Spring Book Fair will take place 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. April 11 and April 14-16. The fair will be open late for family shopping from 2:45 – 6 p.m. on April 10. There will be hundreds of books to choose from, including new favorites, old classics and Bluebonnets. Please come and support Buckalew and your family's love for reading! This year there will also be an On-Line Book Fair: The Online Book Fair will be open April 1-20. Purchases made online should arrive at the school on April 28-29. There are about 1000 more titles online than are available at the school. Be sure to take a look!

Mark your calendars, the second grade music program, ‘The Bear Went Over the Mountain' will be presented the evening of April 10 at 6:30 p.m.; it's going to be terrific!

Bush Elementary School

Kindergarten round up is going on. Parents of incoming kindergarten may come by the school and pick up a registration packet. On Thursday, April 10 the school will remain open until 6 p.m. for registration.

The spring choir concert will take place on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. in our school gym.

Collins Intermediate School

Congratulations to all the fifth grade band participants in the fifth grade Band Solo & Ensemble Contest at College Park High School. We would like to congratulate everyone on all their hard work. Cox Intermediate School

David Elementary School

First grade students will participate in their spring musical, "David and the Big Wide World," on Thursday, April 10, at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the gym. Parents are invited to stay for open house immediately following the evening performance.

Deretchin K-6 School

April 7-11 marks the annual Kindergarten round up and the late night will be held on April 10 from 4 -6 p.m.

Know anyone that wants to work for CISD? Ask them to attend the job fair being held on April 12!

Ford Elementary School

We would like to congratulate these students for their outstanding accomplishments in Art: Samuel Vera, Johana Vega, Mario Urbina, Tanner Hoelscher, Jazmin Campos and Drew Buescher. These students will have their artwork entered in the Montgomery County Fair Junior Fine Arts Competition on April 5. Good luck in the competition! Second, third and fourth grade will participate in Fun Day on April 8, and kindergarten and first grade will take part in Fun Day activities on April 9.

S.W.E.E.T. Luncheons with the Counselor will be held on April 10.

Talent Show Try-outs are scheduled for April 11.

Galatas Elementary School

Kindergarten Round-up will be held April 7-11. Families will be able to pre-register students for kindergarten next year.

Glen Loch Elementary School

The fourth grade choir concert is on Thursday April 10 at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The Gator Family Fun Fest Carnival will be held on Saturday April 12 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Glen Loch. There will be rock wall climbing, jousting, a cupcake and snake walk, a huge inflatable slide, a silent auction, and yummy BBQ and Kona Ice available for sale. Buy your tickets now for the carnival.

Kindergarten roundup will taking place the week of April 7 through April 11. Orientation for next year's kindergarteners will be held on Wednesday April 9 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the library.

The Parent Teacher Organization is selling personalized bricks as an ongoing fundraiser. Buy a brick and be part of school history.

Please continue to drop off your plastic shopping bags for our recycling collection which ends soon. Plastic bag recycling bins are located just inside the front doors.

There will be no school store during the month of April.

Art Night was a big success with students who created fun art at stations with their families.

Hailey Elementary School

Thank you very much to our Parent Teacher Association and all who supported our Spring Family Fun Night! It was a night of fun for all involved and our school is so appreciative of the efforts that made this even so successful! Thank you!

Thursday, April 10, is Hailey Night at Jerry Built Burgers. Please visit Jerry Built between 5 and 8 p.m. as a portion of their sales will be donated to our school. Kindergarten Round Up (registration) for children who are five years old on or before September 1, 2014, continues through April 11. Hours April 9 and 11 are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Thursday, April 10, hours are 2-6 p.m.

Pre-Kindergarten registration for eligible 4-year-olds will occur in August at the elementary campus where the student is zoned. The child must be four years old on or before September 1, 2014, and meet eligibility requirements for Pre-Kindergarten.

The Spring Book Fair will be held in the school library April 11-17. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Family Night at the Book Fair will be Tuesday, April 15 at 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The second grade music program will be presented Tuesday, April 15 at 6 p.m. Second graders should report to the music room at 5:40 p.m. dressed in their costume.

Students are encouraged to bring aluminum cans for recycling every Friday for the Cash for Cans program.

Houser Elementary School

Kindergarten Roundup starts at Houser April 7-11 during school hours. Any incoming Kindergarteners can come by the school and begin the registration process for next school year.

Spring Creek BBQ Spirit Night is Thursday, April 10 from 5-7 p.m.

Hot Houser Hawk Luncheon will be Friday, April 11 during each grade level lunch time.

Irons Junior High School

Irons Junior High is proud to recognize the following students of the week for their academic or social achievements. The “Red Hot” learning team 7-1 would like to recognize Shealyn Clagg. The “All Staar” learning team 7-3 would like to recognize Dylan Ehrhardt for always doing his best work and being respectful and responsible. The "Iron Nation" learning team 8-1 would like to recognize Kaitlyn Jaymez. The "Spirit" learning team 8-4 would like to recognize Ashley Hawkins our Student of the Week because of her positive attitude.

Mrs. Willeford's Artists of the week are Aimee Elizalde for her beautiful rose "nature inspired" vase in Ceramics; Kylee Vear for her thoughtful creativity, and inspiring work ethic from Art III and Edwin Navas for his attitude and willingness to pitch in and help in Art I. Your efforts are greatly appreciated! Keep up the good work!

Choir singers of the week are Emma Kayte Roberts, Wyatt Fogle, Adriana Vega, and Riddhi Ankolekar.

The Yearbook student of the week is Alyssa Horrell for not misspelling a single kids name on her spreads in the yearbook. Mrs. Mlcak is very proud of your diligence and attention to details.

Kaufman Elementary School

Wednesday, April 9, there will be grade level awards for the third nine weeks.

Second grade will be hosting their Reading Restaurant, RSVP required. Thursday, April 10, second grades Reading Restaurant continues.

The Cool Cougar Luncheon will be held on Friday, April 11.

Knox Junior High School

The Knox Symphonic and Concert Bands took top honors at the UIL Concert and Sight-reading contest. The bands came away with top scores from all six judges, earning each band the Sweepstakes trophy. This makes 14 consecutive years of Sweepstakes Awards for each of the Non Varsity bands at Knox.

The Girls Soccer Team will host Irons on Thursday, April 10 at 5 p.m.

The Boys Soccer Team will travel to Irons on Thursday April 10. Games begin at 5 p.m.

The Tennis Team will compete at Conroe High School on Thursday, April 10 beginning at 5 p.m.

The Knox Varsity Band will compete at University Interscholastic League competition on Thursday, April 10 at Tomball Memorial High School.

The Gingham Girl try-out clinic will be held April 7 through April 12.

Lamar Elementary School

Great job on STAAR Writing fourth grade!! Leopards are leaders!

McCullough Junior High School

There will be a P.T.O. meeting in the Bock Auditorium on April 17 at 9:30 a.m. McCullough now has a Twitter account for anyone to follow which will tweet helpful and breaking news designed to assist students, parents/guardians, and staff. Follow us @McCulloughCISD.

Mitchell Intermediate School

Mitchell Teachers and Staff will host a “Volunteer Breakfast” on Wednesday, April 9 at 9 a.m. to show appreciation to all who volunteer at the school during the year. The Parent Teacher Organization will hold their next monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 9 at 11:30 a.m.

The Sixth grade Band/Orchestra Solo and Ensemble Contest will be held at Vogel Intermediate on Saturday, April 12. A limited supply of yearbooks is still for sale. It is first come, first served until they run out. Go to the Mitchell PTO website at www.mitchellmustangspto.org to order your copy.

Oak Ridge High School

In March, Oak Ridge High School held its' Spring Blood Drive with great success! We had 230 donors give over 300 units of blood which has set a new mark for Oak Ridge. These donations could help to save over 900 lives in our community. The ORHS Blood Drives are an excellent public service and the ORHS Health Science students' thank you for your support!

Powell Elementary School

The Parent Teacher Organization will be meeting on Wednesday, April 9 at 11:15 am.

Kindergarten Round-Up is continuing through Friday, April 11. Late night registration at Powell will be on Thursday, April 10 at 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Powell's Parent Teacher Organization "Let's Rodeo" Carnival will be held on Friday, April 11 from 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. come and enjoy!

On Tuesday, April 15, second grade will be performing their musical, "Hats". It will be held at 6 p.m.

Snyder Elementary School

Kindergarten Round will be April 7-11. Information is available on the Snyder website (http://snyder.conroeisd.net/).

Chick-Fil -A Spirit Night will be April 10. Please join us to support our school!

The First Grade field trip will be on Friday April 11.

Our Stallion Derby and Carnival will be April 26 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tickets are already on sale. Information will continue to come home in Friday folders.

The Woodlands High School

The Woodlands Counseling Staff, in conjunction with the College Park Counseling Department, is excited to co-host Together for Tomorrow. This event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the College Park High School Auditorium. All TWHS juniors and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend. College representatives will be addressing the issues of importance in college admissions including application fit, fine arts schools, career and majors, athletics, international students, and much more. The evening will begin with “College 101. This session will address information regarding the college admission process at both high schools. Specific information for juniors regarding applications, letters of recommendation, and scholarship applications will be provided. At the conclusion of the grade-specific workshops, there will be breakout sessions for all parents and students featuring college admissions personnel. At this time, we have confirmed speakers from The University of Texas at Austin, Washington University at St. Louis, the University of Alabama, Texas State University, Centenary College, the University of Houston, and Navarro College. Continue to watch the newsletter and emails from Family Connection for announcements concerning this very important evening!

Wilkerson Intermediate School

The Private PE applications for the 2014-2015 school year will be available online only. If your sixth grader is going to participate in Private PE for seventh grade, you must go to the Conroe ISD website under the Athletic link to apply. The application will only be available April 1 - April 30. The link to apply will no longer be available on or after May 1. If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Dr. Sterchy at ssterchy@conroeisd.net or 936-709-7717.

Science Club will meet on Tuesday, April 8 from 4 until 5:15 p.m.

April 8 is also Spirit Night at Skate Town from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

PTO will be meeting on Wednesday, April 9 at 1:15 p.m. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Adrian Klein! His artwork will be on display at the Woodlands International Youth Art booth on April 12 and 13! He needs our support and votes so please stop by this booth and let Adrian know how much you enjoy his creative efforts. Way to go, Adrian!!

Solo Festival for sixth grade band students will be held at Vogel Intermediate School on Saturday, April 12. Scheduled playing times will go home with band students this week.

Monday evening, April 14, from 5-8 p.m. will be Orchestra Instrument Selection Night for in-coming fifth graders interested in being a part of the Wildcat Orchestra. Please park in the back of the school and enter through the gym doors.

Tuesday evening, April 15, from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. will be Band Instrument Selection Night for in-coming fifth graders interested in being a part of the Wildcat Band. Please park in the back of the school and enter through the gym doors.

Friday, April 18 is a school holiday for staff and students.
