THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Nate Fisbeck belted a walk-off inside-the-park home run and the College Park High School baseball team took an 8-7 11-inning win over non-district opponent College Station on Saturday at The Diamonds.

Fisbeck’s dramatic blast scored Colin Cameron with the tying run after College Station took a 7-6 lead in the top of the 11th.

It was the third time in the game that the Cavaliers erased a deficit. College Park trailed 2-0 early before a two-run double from Justen Heinrich scored both Cory Meissner and Ryder Lucas to tie the game after four innings.

Heinrich collected four of College Park’s 15 hits and drove in four runs. Jayden Holden added two hits and also picked up the win in relief. Noah Vaughan tripled and Robby Henderson doubled to help highlight the attack.

The Cavaliers rallied from a 6-2 deficit, duplicating College Station’s four-run fifth inning and the game remained tied, 6-6, until the 11th.

Jacob Mardick worked 4 2/3 innings on the mound for the Cavaliers and Tyler Mortenson ate up another 4 1/3 innings, striking out four.

College Park (18-8, 6-2) returns to District 14-5A action when it hosts A&M Consolidated at 6 p.m. Tuesday before visiting Lufkin for a 7 p.m. Thursday game.
