HOUSTON -- Searching for hidden pastel colored eggs in back yards and parks this time of year isn’t just an Easter discovery delight for small children. Animals also enjoy searching for Easter treats. That’s why the animals at the Houston Zoo are going to have a big Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday.

Join us for an Egg-stra Special Egg-Stravaganza at the Houston Zoo on Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Houston Zoo’s keepers have made paper mache eggs for animals large and small, from chimpanzees and orangutans to elephants, bats, porcupines, meerkats, warthogs, lions, leopards and more.

But we didn’t reserve all the fun just for our animals. Zoo guests can enjoy egg-stra special fun too, including an egg themed scavenger hunt, the Bunny Hop sack race, an egg matching game and the always popular ‘egg-on-a-spoon’ race. All activities are included in Zoo admission and are free for Zoo Members. Find out more about this egg-stra special Easter treat online at http://www.houstonzoo.org/animal-egg-hunt/.
