THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The 2014 CB&I TRI—The Woodlands Triathlon, takes place on Saturday, May 3, 2014, with some lane closures and one road closure, in effect during a portion of the race. The closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; expect delays at intersections up to, and shortly after the scheduled times.

Due to the ongoing SJRA project and other road constructi, on projects, the route for the CB&I TRI has changed. The bike route for the 2014 will begin at Northshore Park and continue west in the left lane of Lake Woodlands Drive to Sterling Ridge Drive. Riders will use the Carlton Woods Roundabout and return east on Sterling Ridge and in the left lane of Lake Woodlands Drive eastbound back to Northshore Park.. This will leave the right lane(s) open for traffic for the duration of the bicycle portion of the race. Most residents will be able to leave their neighborhoods by turning right; left turns will not be permitted during the race.

The only road closure for the bicycle course is on Lake Woodlands Drive Bridge with limited access between New Trails Drive and Lake Front Circle. Eastbound traffic for this closure will be rerouted to East Panther Creek Drive and westbound traffic will be rerouted to Grogans Mill Road. This closure has been consistent for the majority of the past 10 years. The bridge and lane closures will be in effect from early morning until approximately 10:30 a.m.

The running course for the CB&I TRI will be from Northshore Park along The Woodlands Waterway and there will be no lane or road closures for this portion of the race.

A dedicated 24-hour traffic hotline is active. The traffic hotline can be reached by calling 281-210-2099, and calls to this number will be responded to within one business day. Between April 28 and May 3, 2014, these calls will be answered 24 hours a day.

Residents are encouraged to use this information and the telephone hotline to more efficiently navigate through the community during this event.
