KILGORE, Texas – The clock struck midnight on the Woodlands Strykers Wednesday. And then the East Texas Pump Jacks struck for the winning run in the bottom of the 15th inning of a 5-hour, 18-minute marathon.

The Pump Jacks (3-2) sent the Strykers to their fifth consecutive loss to start the 2014 season with a 7-6 victory at Driller Park, completing a sweep of the two-game series.

Sean Coleman erased a 5-3 deficit in the fifth inning with a bases-loaded, three-run triple to give the Strykers a 6-5 lead. East Texas pushed across the tying run in the bottom of the sixth inning and the teams went scoreless until the 15th.

Gandy Stubblefield threw nearly 100 pitches in relief for the Strykers. The righty struck out 13 batters over 6 1/3 innings of shutout relief, allowing just four hits.

All 10 Strykers position players collected hits. Mark Whitehead led the 19-hit attack with a 5-for-8 night. He scored twice. Greg Belton added three hits (3-for-7) while Cody Clarke, Spence Rahm and Jacob Caples delivered two hits apiece.

The Strykers return home to face the Texas Marshals in 7:05 p.m. games on Thursday and Friday.
