THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Lionel Richie fans helped raise nearly $40,000 at The Pavilion Partners Pre-Concert Dinner & Fundraiser July 12. Money raised benefits The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s performing arts events and educational outreach programs. The event took place in The Pavilion’s House of Blues Hospitality Tent prior to the Lionel Richie with CeeLo Green concert.

“This year’s Pre-Concert Dinner & Fundraiser was a huge success. The money raised goes to help fund the exceptional programs at The Pavilion,” said John Robichau, co-chair of the event. “Everyone had a great time partying ‘All Night Long’ before the Lionel Richie concert. I would like to thank everyone involved from the committee to the volunteers who helped to make this one of the best Pre-Concert Dinner & Fundraisers The Pavilion has ever had.”

The evening began with appetizers by Tommy Bahama and dancing by Boni’s Dance & Performing Arts Studio. Guest also enjoyed participating in two unique games including the “Easy” Like Sunday Morning Alcohol Pull and the “Sail On” Treasure Chest. Then they were treated to dinner inspired by Richie’s favorite cuisine, Italian, catered by Squash Blossom Catering and desserts by Walker Catering & Events, Nothing Bundt Cake and Kiss the Cook Cakes.

The two games offered opportunities for guests to win fabulous prizes with everyone receiving a prize if they participated. The top prizes were won by Callie Piper with a $1,000 Nordstrom shopping spree and Linda Bischoff with a one carat round black diamond pendant.

Guests bid on items including One Direction concert tickets, Houston Texans tickets, catering package, an autographed Jadeveon Clowney Texans helmet, golf package and more. A meet and greet with Lionel Richie was auctioned off by the Master of Ceremonies and Director of Premium Seat Sales for The Pavilion, JD Villaseñor. The winners of the meet and greet were Jessica and Chad Hudson and Steve Pate, Pavilion board member. The Hudsons came from Louisiana for their wedding anniversary to attend the event and concert.
