THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Gordy Bunch, at-large board member on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors, announce that he will continue to offer his services, experience, and expertise to the community as he files for reelection to the Township Board.

WHAT: Reelection to Positon One on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors.

WHEN & WHERE: Tuesday, July 22, 2014 – 8:00 a.m. at The Woodlands Township Town Hall

WHY: Bunch says the current board has launched multiple innovative and necessary programs to the community and that “Together, this board has contributed vital quality of life enhancements in recreation and services, while reducing taxes and debt for all residents. I am not one to leave unfinished business behind or bask in any reflected glow from past service. I’m still rolling up my sleeves and working to make one of America’s model communities an even better place to work, play, live, and learn.”

ACCOMPLISHMENTS & GOALS:

Bunch says he is proud of the board’s accomplishments over the past two years as they manage what is considered as the most successful government in the state of Texas. Among the board’s accomplishments he lists:

Two consecutive years of tax cuts with a goal of enabling a third year of savings.

Reduced public debt by $14.5 million, saving residents $5 million in interest.

Enhanced parks and recreation facilities in Bear Branch and Alden Bridge soccer fields that brought new turf surfaces, more than a mile of paved jogging track, brighter and more expansive lighting and a new forthcoming 25-acre sports park.

An annual savings of $800,000 on a single insurance contract with broader coverage for Township properties and facilities.

As newly elected Chairman of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau he and staff have been instrumental in planning a community-wide celebration for the 40th anniversary of The Woodlands in October 2014.
