Rusty's Garage moves to The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - For those who typically put their automobile on cruise control to motor over to Rusty’s Garage, you’ll have to make a U-turn and head in the direction of Sawdust to find their new location.

The full-service, auto mechanic shop relocated this past weekend to 25143 Melda Road off Sawdust, just past Sawmill on the south side of the street. The new location is just prior to the second ‘dog leg’ which veers right. (The first ‘dog leg’ turns left at the Walmart Supercenter.)

“Our new location is more conveniently located for the majority of our customers,” said owner, Rusty McKee. “We definitely needed more space for our growing customer base.”

The team transitioned all the equipment in one weekend, including Rocky, their guard dog, and was open for business Monday morning, July 28. Woodlands Online was given a 'sneak peek' during the move process.

“The new garage has five bays but there’s enough room in between them to accommodate more vehicles,” said mechanic, Pat DePugh.

In addition to more space for cars, there’s a larger customer service area, and the paved parking lot is a welcome relief. To take a virtual tour of the new location, click on the link and view the video filmed a couple of weeks ago.

Even more accommodating is the number of accesses to reach the shop. Rusty’s Garage is located equidistant from I-45N and Glen Loch, where Sawdust ends; the shop can be reached traveling east or west, or by taking Sawmill south off of Grogan’s Mill and then turning right on Sawdust.(Turn left across the street of Affordable Self Storage.) The new shop is approximately three blocks down on the left; signage to be erected soon. Hours of operation are still Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

"And most importantly and as always, the home of the free loaner car," said McKee.
