THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Dr. Vance Andrew LeCrone, 43, passed away peacefully August 4, 2014, surrounded by loving family and his beloved pastor in The Woodlands, Texas. He suffered an unexpected heart attack early Monday morning. Vance was born January 4, 1971 in Waco, Texas to Noel Blake "Blakie" & Harold H. "Hap" LeCrone. Vance is survived by his beloved wife Amy Anderson LeCrone, as well as his precious children, twin daughters Charlotte Blake and Adeline Grace, and son Thomas Vance. He is also survived by his brother Adam Blake LeCrone and sister Noelle LeCrone Fields, as well as a host of in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces who adored him.

He graduated from Baylor University on the Dean's List with a B.A. in Biology in 1994, and earned a Master of Clinical Gerontology from Baylor in 1995. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Vance went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2000 in Houston. He was accepted to the General Practice Residency program at Memorial Hermann following graduation and then practiced General Dentistry in the Texas Medical Center for one year. He never gave up his dream of becoming an orthodontist and went on to earn his Master and Certificate in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics in 2004, where he was selected Chief Resident from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Dental Branch. In 2004 Vance established LeCrone Orthodontics. With the help of his devoted staff, he followed his passion of providing orthodontic care to patients of all ages. While he loved his job, it was his patients that gave him the most joy & fulfillment. Their beautiful smiles will be a reflection of Vance's gift for years to come.

Vance had a generous heart and truly never met a stranger. He was a charitable man whose outgoing, warm nature was evident to all those he came across. His warm gentle spirit mixed with his great sense of humor set him apart from the rest. A strong Christian, he was an active member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church where he served on the PPR Board, attended Quest Men's Bible Study, and had a passion for his mission work in Honduras. A self-professed golf addict with dreams of being on tour, Vance's love of the sport can be heard in his own words, "Give me a good buddy, an early morning tee time and a hot putter, and I am in heaven". He served on the Greens Committee for The Club of Carlton Woods. His Friday afternoon tee time with friends was a perfect start to begin the weekend.

One of his favorite places on earth was Camp Longhorn where he attended as a camper and counselor for over 15 years. It is here where he met some of his closest lifelong friends, and most importantly where his love story began with his bride Amy. He cherished the "TB" reunions with this special group of men where they continued to make memories.

Above all, his family was his everything. His greatest joy in life was being a father. His Friday lunch dates with his children at school, weekend movie dates, hours of playing their favorite games in the pool, and his made up "Jambalaya" bedtime stories are all examples of the exceptional Dad he was. Playing golf with Thomas and coaching his sports brought him pure joy. He never missed a game, recital, or family dinner.

His role as a father could only be surpassed by his role as spouse. He was truly the devoted and godly husband that Christ called him to be. Vance and Amy recently celebrated 15 years of marriage at one of their favorite places, the beach.

In true Vance fashion, his last extraordinary gift was being an organ donor, through which he will continue to bless numerous lives.

The family would like to thank the first responders at Carlton Woods Fazio, the heroes at Fire Department Station 7, and the amazing doctors and ICU staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital The Woodlands. Their valiant efforts gained us precious time to say our goodbyes and prepare our hearts for this great loss.

The family received visitors on August 8th from 5-8 p.m., in the Robb Chapel at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive. A celebration of life and memorial service was held in the Sanctuary on August 9th at 1:00 p.m., also at The Woodlands United Methodist Church. A private burial immediately preceded the memorial service on August 9th.
