THE WOODLANDS – The inaugural Woodlands Cup Golf Tournament will be held Monday, Sept. 22 at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center Panther Trails Golf Course. The Woodlands Cup is a charity golf tournament where residents of the eight villages in The Woodlands Township will join together for good and compete for bragging rights, a trophy and scholarship funds for their respective village association.

“The mission of The Woodlands Cup is to bring together the residents of The Woodlands Township villages for a fun and worthy event,” said John Brown, founder of the Woodlands Cup. “We are eager to get lots of involvement so we can raise as much money as possible for our high school seniors at our three high schools, College Park High School, Oak Ridge North High School and The Woodlands High School.”

Never before has there been a golf tournament that specifically benefits each individual Village and their respective charities and scholarships. "This Tournament will be an annual event to raise much needed funds so that each Village can give back to the community in their own way," Brown said. "It's a lofty goal, but then, so are the needs of our community."

Sponsorships and golfing spots are still available. The last day to sign up for either is Sept. 8. Proceeds from The Woodlands Cup will benefit the village associations’ scholarships and charities.
